Make Or Break

Wow…I haven’t written on here in a long time, but there’s something that I must get off my chest. I was just reading an article that was explaining why height was important in the fashion industry and I respect everything they had to say, but in the industry, they should be trying to up-sell clothes…not people. Regardless of my height, people like me should be given that opportunity to model clothes that can relate to others who are our height. I am not 5’9”, nor will I be, so why must I watch someone who is that height model something I can’t relate to? Now, I am not by any means downing any of the models that are out there doing their things because once you start, it’s a commitment. A job. A career. I love what they are doing and I love fashion with all of my heart, but I think that the world should give shorter people the opportunity to model. Look at the Plus Size that used to never exist. That plus sized person stepped their foot in that door and showed that even big girls can model as well. I want to do the same for average size people. With all of this being said, I am going to start Kansas State University’s first fashion show…no height requirement and it can also be for anyone who has ever had the desire to show that they have what it takes. I will be working with a team of designers, models and also marketing students. This is MY dream and I want it to really come true. Legends like Kate Moss and Twiggy just didn’t step out only for them, but they stepped out for us all. They are average height [5 foot 6] and they work it. I believe if you have a voice, it will be heard and no matter how many people reject it, at least they heard it and that’s all that matters. I want to see a change in the industry once more. If you literally have what it takes and are serious about something you love, you should NEVER give up and follow your dreams because that’s how change comes…and I am going to follow mines.♥

RestLESS

I am about to exercise. Do you want to know what I hate people ask me? “Why are you exercising when you’re so small anyways?” LIke what are you trying to say? That’s not cool whatsoever and I just don’t like that question. I excerise because I love the feel of the wind rushing threw my hair and the excitement after it all. Can I just look beautiful and fit? Always.
